Branding for a gamified learning app
Gamebrain is a mobile app that enables users to learn through a fun, game-show-style experience, increasing workforce engagement in this digital world.
The Challenge
I was tasked with coming up with a brand identity that would transform across to the app and the marketing materials that would accompany it. It needed to be fun, engaging and relevant without being too young, and targeted towards the employees that were considered the majority of users. A generation familiar and confortable with gaming, strong users of smart phones and willing to use these smartphones for their learning.
The Result
My original research into gaming found that bright colours and simple graphics were more appealing to our intended user market. I also looked into traditional, easily identifiable gaming pieces, settling on the dice as a device. By using the bright colours, the dice as a gaming identifier and the brain image, the UX guys added these to their concept work, creating an app and identity that stands out from other learning apps. I was able to then concentrate on other collateral. So far, Gamebrain has gone down really well and has won a few learning awards for the team.
