Launching a new on demand pay service
Access EarlyPay is on-demand pay; a new mobile app service that lets your staff draw down from the pay they have already earned. For employers, it’s a cash neutral service, funded by The Access Group, with no impact to their normal payroll processes. It’s simple, easy to set up and manage and is intuative to use, with added safeguards in place to ensure employees do not leave themselves short. Importantly, Access EarlyPay is not an advance or a form of credit. It is simply the pay an employee has accrued to date and theirs to take early, should they wish to do so.
The Challenge
A project manager initially had the idea for a new app but needed help getting the idea out of his head and into a form to pitch to the board to get the all important go ahead to develop the idea. To do this we imagined they were the very employees that would want to use this service. I created an on boarding document that explains what the service is and how it works and created concept graphics for the App to show visually what it might look like and show how easy it was to use. Once we got the buy in, I passed the UX stage of the app over to our developers, which they progressed based upon my graphics.
The Result
Upon internal launch, we received a fantastic response and some extremely helpful feedback, that has gone on to further improve the App and service. The external launch has also garnered some reviews from the companies who have implemented the service, and their staff have been very happy that they can access the pay the have earned, early. An unforseen result of this service was that companies began to see a reduction in staff turnover and a happier workforce.
